The Cybersecurity Technology Management Certificate offered through Loyola's School of Continuing and Professional Studies prepares you with the technological and managerial skills necessary to succeed as a cybersecurity professional in today's IT-dependent world.
The program covers how to assess an organization's preparedness for cyberthreats, how to develop a plan of action before they occur, how to manage their aftermath and ensure the continuity of IT functions, and how to develop a strategy for designing and building cloud security architectures.
Program Structure
The Cybersecurity Technology Management Certificate is a nine-credit-hour program encompassing three courses. It's also offered as a 10-12 credit-hour program if completing an optional course.
You have the option of starting the certificate in Spring I (January) and taking a single course in three consecutive eight-week terms, completing the program in seven months.
To succeed in the program, you should have a current role or past experience/background in IT leadership, information technology, information assurance, or cybersecurity. Or, you must provide prior cybersecurity training credentials such as a university degree or industry certification.
Courses are completed online, with weekly synchronous meetings held during the evening.

The Cybersecurity Technology Management Certificate program will support you in developing the following skills:
- Understanding of the strategic importance of effective, interdisciplinary, and multifunctional enterprise information security governance
- The ability to evaluate the effectiveness and potential application of multiple information security governance structures and information security management programs
- Foundational knowledge of governance, risk, and compliance (GRC) concepts as they relate to legal, regulatory, and standards-based environments
- The ability to define the constituent components of Contingency Planning including business impact analysis, incident response planning, disaster recovery planning, business continuity planning, and crisis management planning

Transcripts sent by the student to Loyola are considered unofficial documents, and while they may be utilized for initial review of your application, official transcripts are still required. Official documents should be sent by the institution to gradapp@luc.edu.
International Applicant Requirements
An official English language proficiency exam is required for international applicants whose native language is not English. If you have non-U.S. educational credentials, you are required to submit an official transcript evaluation. The transcript evaluation cannot be waived.
